05/07/07 – 05/14/07

05/07/07, officer conducted a traffic stop for speeding in the 4100 block of S. University. Upon contact the officer detected an odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath and slurred speech. The driver, a 22 year old male from Englewood was arrested for investigation of DUI. He was transported to the CHPD and the chemical breath test result was .181. The driver was issued a summons and released to a sober party. The vehicle was impounded for safekeeping.

5/08/07, officers responded to a burglary in the 4700 block of E. Oxford. The 49 year old male homeowner arrived home at 1:25 p.m. and found items missing from the home. Officers arrived and checked the home for suspects and began an investigation. The estimated time of the crime is between 9:00 am and 1:25 p.m. on 5/8/07. The case has been forwarded to investigations for follow-up.

05/13/07, a 57 year old male reporting party states that copper downspouts were stolen from a home in the 4600 block of E. Lafayette sometime between noon on May 12 and 11:30 a.m. on May 13, 2007.

05/13/07, officer responded to a call from a 72 year old reporting party of graffiti spray painted onto a mailbox and brick wall on E. Stanford Ave.

05/14/07, officer responded to a theft in the 4500 block of S. University. The reporting party stated that she left her purse and laptop unattended and upon her return the purse was missing. The purse was later recovered nearby with several items missing. This case has been turned over to Investigations for follow-up.
